Jukebox Story 2 - The Value of "ME"

Here is something for all of us who lost hope in ourselves. Something that i shared on Jukebox Program

______________________________

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up.

He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands were up in the air.

"Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, you have all learned a valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.

We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special - Don't ever forget it!"

______________________________

Don't ever doubt your self-worth.. Though there are difficulties and struggles, we will not be devalued along the way! Instead, our value may rise due to the new experiences/skills we learn through difficult times!

jia you...

Lovely Birthday @ 972!

On the 3rd September, i was thinking.. "I've to work on my birthday!" but i guess I'm pretty used to that... So i went to office like any other normal day, not particularly happy, nor expecting anything or anticipating any sort of birthday greeting/celebrations!

The show went on pretty fine in Ready Go and at about 6.18pm when i was preparing for the evening news, i suddenly heard my co-host Lilian say "Time for Traffic News Update!". I looked up and the microphone went on, for us to go on air. All of a sudden, the lights go off and Miss Lilian started singing a birthday song!

Then on, i see my colleagues and boss walking into the studio with a cake filled with lighted candles.. *awww*. Finished singing the birthday song, blew out the candles and managed to thank them on air too. I must say, i did not suspect anything at all when i stepped into office today. Great job Lilian and Co. ! :) 感动。

Feel blessed and very happy to have lovely colleagues celebrating my 26th in this manner. Great surprise and gesture! (though they say I only get this in my first year of 972 :P) though simple, it'll definitely be a memorable experience that i will remember. 有心就够了!

Feel grateful that my colleagues and especially my co-host partner Lilian for helping me settle in 972 quickly for in this 2 months. :) looking forward to many months to come!

The show went on with many birthday wishes coming in during the Jukebox program and other belated wishes during the next following days of Jukebox.. *awwww*. Once again, very very touched and motivated by these little sincere gestures from listeners/supporters and friends. These SMSs, Calls, Blog wishes meant a great deal to me. :) 非常感激。

THANK YOU ALL for this Splendid 26th Birthday! :)

A Short Introduction about JEFF

Got quite a number of our bloggie friends here mentioning about self-introduction to know Jeff better ya -- Like how long i've been working, and my hobbies etc. I'll try my best to write as briefly as i can ya :)

Alright, this is JEFF. When he's alot younger and less stressed. Looks like boy-boy ya.. Doing a roadshow with Jacelyn Tay at Suntec City. I guess you might be more interested to see the sporty Jacelyn beside me ya :P

This was taken about 4 to 5 years ago, when i first entered radio at Dongli883FM. Knowing nuts about radio, my colleagues and mentors at Dongli883 taught me a great deal, and transformed me into a completely different person. Very thankful and utmost gratitude. Still can remember very clearly everything i experience and went through in that 2 years.

Went to NUS for another 3 years, studying Arts and Social Sciences (Communications Management Major) and then back on radio last September 2007, at the brand new 883JiaFM. Had quite a good time there for 6 months, but left due to my other committments..

And now, moving on to a new exciting environment at Love972FM, i am happy and blessed to be on radio airwaves again! Great privilege to be the few lucky people to be given the chance to speak on air to the rest of Singapore. Radio still gives me the "magical" feeling each time i speak over the microphone. Connections i make with listeners and friends on air, brings me a new experience each day. Definitely looking forward to more great things in time to come!

Alright, shall end the self-introduction here. Hobbies and other short infos, in the other posts to come ya....
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this long post. Have a great day!

It's A Lazy Sunday!

Not sure how many of you actually stayed at home the whole day like I did ? :)

Its a lazy lazy Sunday! Recently it has been raining in the mornings, and it makes sleeping so much more heavenly. I am sure many people refuse to wake up and took emergency MCs and Leaves this week! I , slept til about 2pm today. Amazing amount of sleep i got, something i am deprived of during the weekdays ;) (I hope it goes on to rain in the mornings !!! :P)

Have been reading the many comments written in the various posts, very thankful and grateful for all the encouragements and kind words. Feel motivated to work harder and produce better work for you. Jia you!

As for the Love Story shared on Jukebox (below), I'm not very sure whether it is real. I agree with most of you that it probably wont happen in reality! hmmm but still, it does help to make us "touched" and know that we can all do more for the people we love..

oops, think the post is getting long already. time to sleep! :P
